- Skill is the maximum playing ability of a player
- CSkill is the "current skill", the playing ability of a player depending on his current position and his fitness (it's always lower or equal than his Skill)
- ETal ist the "estimated talent" of a player, ie. the estimate your scout provides about the player's peak ability (the highest skill he'll ever reach during his career); note that this is an estimate, you'll never know the real talent for sure
- using youths in actual matches should help their development. Your particular bloke maybe just isn't talented enough.

There is no fixed amount of matches. Letting them play matches should simply speed up their development.
