Bygfoot Football Manager 2.0.0 available

Post by gyboth »

Bygfoot Football Manager 2.0.0 is available

This version is formally the successor of the last stable release 1.8.2, but technically almost identical to the development version 1.9.6. A few bugs got fixed, and there were some country definition updates.

You can find the detailed ChangeLog here.

Screenshots can be found here.

Team/league/country count for this version:
2112 teams in 151 leagues in 22 countries.

This version includes a package for the Windows operating system. You need to install the GTK+ runtime environment first, which you can get here (you need the .exe 32-bit Windows version).

EDIT: There's a Bygfoot package bundled with GTK+ now, see the follow-up post.

Get the appropriate package for your system at the SourceForge.net project site. Debian and FreeBSD packages should be available from the appropriate servers soon.

Bug reports can be filed in the Bug reports forum.

This version is savegame compatible to Bygfoot 1.9.6, but not to the previous stable release 1.8.2.

Contrarily to 1.9.6, the home directory on Unix systems is called '.bygfoot' (like with 1.8.2). If you'd like to keep your settings and savegames from 1.9.5/6, you should rename the '.bygfoot-1.9' directory to '.bygfoot'.

If you upgrade from 1.8.x on a Unix system, you should first delete the '.bygfoot' directory in your home dir to keep things clean (2.0.0 will work even if you don't, but you'll have a lot of superfluous files in '.bygfoot' from 1.8.x).

Enough chattering, go get the new package, try to become World Champion with your national team and, most importantly, have fun!

I've made a Windows package bundled with GTK+. Windows users who don't want to install the GTK+ runtime environment can now get the bundle here (5,5 MB). After unpacking, they should be able to run the game (with the slimmer, non-bundled package you get a complaint about a missing dll).
