Adding "media" to BygFoot

Post by GeoVah »

Look previous thread :

http://bygfoot.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/v ... php?p=2687

So BygFoot needs some sound to accompany the game.

My first idea is sounds about :
- whistle for start , half-time and end match
- maybe some "ouccchhhhhh" or some scary sound when a player is injure ?

Someone already have this sound ?
Or someone have a micro to save this sound ?

btw, i've made a small step towards more eye-candy and media. the progress bar is now accompanied by pictures, e.g. when results are calculated, it looks like this:

i've got about 15 pictures like that, and they are picked randomly when showing the progress bar. if anyone has similar pics (w/o copyright issues, of course), please send them to me.

aggh should have seen this one first :)
I think i have whistle sounds and some crowd stuff. if not i can certainly make it.
flat out this w/e but ill get back to you soon..

Ill convert if need be to ogg of course ;)
what quality would you like. I suspect we need to keep it all pretty compressed or the game download size will blow out real quick

well we have a few problems with the implementation anyway, so no need to rush.

yes, i guess we'll have ogg. quality doesn't matter much for sound effects, i'd say.
and the download size will be quite a chunk bigger anyway because of the match pics.

If the download size is too big, we can make a bygfoot lite (like wesnoth) without sounds and great pictures.

Yes good idea and it most definitely will all need to be optioned, on or off. Nothing worse than playing a game while the boss is watching.. so far bygfoot isnt too bad just looks like rows and numbers from a distance, I have time to switch to something else b4 he gets close enough. But start adding cute pitch scenes and the like and I might find myself getting caught :)

unfortunately this would mean twice as many packages (and i'm the one who does all of them except for the deb package, contrary to the wesnoth project where there's one packager per package, approximately).

note also that wesnoth doesn't offer lite packages anymore in recent releases; probably because they're using xdeltas.
