live game-team in possesion

Post by vector »

in ref to a previous post where I thought sometimes the Team in Pos indication is not correct. Here, maybe? is an example.
dblered is a saved file just after the match.
viewing the last match details you will hopefully see two commentarys.
I remember changing this line only a while back because I had it as T_POSS-

Code: Select all

<commentary>_P0_ is sent off. _T_NPOSS__ is now down a man</commentary>
and it indicated the wrong team so I changed it to T_NPOSS_.

Anyway the two screen shots show Ricard getting a red card(a spurs player) the commentary looks ok
the second card however is Ackart (a botlon player) but the commentary says spurs again.
also note the highlighted text. The possesion indicator is incorrect?

erm i cant seem to attach the images
"There are two ways to score. Dribble it over the line or smash it into the back of the net."

the problem here lies in the commentary file. when a foul is committed, mostly it's the team not in possession that's guilty, but sometimes it happens (just as in real life) that the team in possession fouls. because of this neither _T_POSS__ nor _T_NPOSS__ are adequate here; you have to use _TT_.

_TT_ yep ok thanks. this i guess is one of the problems writing commentary. there are some subtle logic traps for unwary writers :)
