Wow !!@!
anyone who says this game is boring needs to be examined
I had a team go up into (english league 1). I needed to get new better players. and didnt have a lot of money. things wernt looking too good. and then inj struck. two of my best players went down with 7 and 11 weeks inj. I had some money but the TL just never gave me the break i needed. I couldnt get the type of players i was desperate for.
The deadline was looming fast and then more Inj and large ban. The money kept coming but I had no decent TL players to use it on. I started sliding deeper and deeper down the ladder. the Deadline came I was in trouble. my players already tired I had to play at least half of the last 15 odd games with antiboost. just to keep them alive.
I constantly checked fixtures for my team and those around me. Deciding which games to try and win and which ones to anti and save my fitness. We traded relegation spots a number of times. up and down, the sweat pouring from my forehead. I played some live games to try and swindle, sneak a win from nothing but desperation.
it came down to one match. The last match. I was on the top relegation spot. The team above me was 2 points away, the team below was 1.
Three teams and one safe spot. The team above had a hard match, the team below had to play the top a the league team. I felt safe they would loose that one. But I still had to win. I was playing a team 10 spots above me but there was a chance. I ran live game and fiddled..
We scored !!!!
against the run of play.
the possession was gaining momentum their way, I susbstituted two tired players for two not so tired and hit the boost. we scraped thru with a 1:0 win. but not without some scary moments.
the team above? they lost , I jumped the one spot. Out of relegation and survive another season
thru all this I hardly noticed the money bags add up. With nothing to spend it on player wise, I went from 1mill to just over 4 mill.. a spending spree for me is planned early next season.....
as long as the dreaded TL finally gives up those players i need.
Phew.!!

NO not not not.
I was saying that while money was trickling in.. (I dont consider 4mill and and a team of only 13, rich) I couldnt spend it. which would indicate if anything, not enough TL traffic. (players available)
However my point was that if the players had been available, no doubt I would have bought one or two extra and the game would NOT have been as exciting.
I was firing a shot at those who seem to indicate they have to be winning all the time. I find a battle to survive just as appealing.[/code]

That's why the game is divided in seasons. One season you try and survive the next one you try and rise to a medium rank, the next one you try and get on the podium, the next one you win
Anyway, I find more excitement in recruiting good players, that's why I wish there were two new features:
1) to be able to buy players outside the transfer list. Pleyrs on the TL are those that teams don't need anymore, but one can want to buy a very good player playing in a team and being prepared to pay a lot for this player.
2) more than one stat per player, at least: defense, passing, shooting... and maybe also: head playing, dribbling... I know it's not on Gyozo's TODO list but I am sure it has to be done at some point and the game would become much more interesting. There is a large scale between commercial managers and their 100 stats or so, and one single stat.

i had the impression that this feature wasn't used a lot in 1.8 (but that was maybe because people didn't know of it). this is why i didn't add it to 1.9 (yet).

you're right, it's not on the todo list. however, it IS on the neverdo list. i hate managers with 100 player attributes. i won't allow
Bygfoot to have more than one or two more than currently.
but I am sure it has to be done at some point
no it hasn't. we don't want yet another of those windog managers.
didn't you realise yet how much fun you can have with a game that you start and understand within 2 minutes?

Didn't you realize yet that people on the forum demand more features and more freedom ? There is an immense gap between one thousand caracteristics and one measly single carac. Three or four would not make the game more difficult (scoring ability, defense, passing) to understand, and would increase its life expectancy. Bygfoot has sponsors, dynamic comments, stadium riots, fires, different scout and medical qualities, and at the same times it remains anchored at the bottom because the players (I mean, the most important part of the game) are extremely basic. One carac is not enough, and at some point people other than me will ask for it. If you think it would just be too difficult to implement then say it.

it's not difficult to implement. it's just something i don't want to have in my game, period. as i said, as a user i hated football managers with players that had lots of attributes, so in my program we will only have a few.
i'm the main developer. just because there are people (be it 1 or 1000) who want development in a certain direction it doesn't mean i have to follow their wishes. and i definitely won't if the direction doesn't match my own ideas at all.

i think if you add this feature you should make the cost and wage demand slightly lower because previously they were much too high
i dont think the players need more attributes like what Lomion is saying but i think more positions are needed. such as centre back, right back, left back, centre midfield, right/left midfield etc. also in real life players like john arne riise for liverpool can play in a couple of different positions (riise can play left mid or left back). so i think players who can play more than one position should be implemented. this happens lots especially with midfielders who can sometimes play defence, midfield and attack

gyözö, of course you do what you want with your program (risking a fork...) but I am not talking about 100 different features, can you understand that ? One is not enough, but 100 are too much. I can draw the gaussian curve for you, representing the player's entertainment versus complexity of the game. A bit of ambition is needed if you want your game to be succesful, unless you code a minehunt game for Microsoft, of course.

right. in my opinion the maximum of the curve is reached after we add two or three additional player attributes.

Exactly ! Perfect. Three of four attributes suit me perfectly
Sometimes it's useful to be stubborn

don't be too happy. i didn't say when we implement them. and player attributes aren't a feature i'd let anyone implement without at least supervising it closely.

Did I write I would implement it ? I didn't even ask for a fast implementation.
Tttt, gyözö, you're getting a bit stressed, aren't you ?
