Team flags.

Post by Lomion »

Flags, colors, emblems, icons... Whatever the name it would be nice to have a small picture, say, 45x45 pixels with the colors of the team. This picture would be used on the main screen to identify easily the current team and also on the live game windows (one picture for each team).

yes, i also thought about putting a pixmap of the team symbol into the main screen. the live game is also a nice idea.

the only problem is that most teams would only have their flag because they're not edited. in the official packages we'd always only have the flags. that's kinda boring then, because every team from your league has the same flag.

We could define something like 30 default flags that would be given at random but would be overridden by team definitions. I mean, just two or three colors per flag, rectangles, stripes, something very easy to do. Then, we could imagine a "team module" that would simply be a zipped directory containing the xml definition of the team, its optional flag and whatever we want to add later.

this is already implemented. if you make a team def and specify a symbol (that the game can find), the default symbol is overridden.

i don't see, however, why the default flags you mention would be better than the country flags we have right now (no more work, vector ;-)).

Because every team in one league would need a different flag.
