dialog vs. zenity

i just discovered a dialog program that uses gtk but is as simple as dialog (the program used to make the bygfoot-update dialogs). it's called zenity.
of course zenity looks classier than dialog (see image) but the question is, is it as widely available as dialog?
so here's my question for all of you: is zenity installed on your current system? 'cause if the answer is YES for 80-90% of the people, i don't see why we couldn't switch to zenity in the update script.
on my system it was installed (mom2pp, you can check it simply by typing 'zenity' in a terminal window and see whether 'bash: zenity: command not found' comes or some zenity error text).
