Bygfoot Football Manager

I'm trying to get this to compile on gentoo properly and I get this. Any ideas?

Some files could not be copied to /home/laurent/.bygfoot.
You should try to copy them manually:

Never mind, I see why it's happening: Bygfoot isn't seeing the pixmap directory for some reason.

you get those messages when compiling? not when starting the game? can't be!
