you know when you get sacked or except a promotion?
well i think that your team characteristics should stay the same
because i have noticed that when you become manager of a new team your old teams stats become randomized
what do you think?

you mean the characteristics of your old team, i take it?
the reason why your old team gets randomized is the following: the program cannot know in what state you leave your old team. maybe you got sacked because you sold all but 11 players. or because you specialized in buying the worst players in the game. and i wouldn't like the game to become a bit unbalanced because of this.
but maybe you're right. the probability that your old team is in such a bad condition isn't that high.

I think the game mimicks life quite well, as is.
If your sacked or jump teams, and as gyboth says, we dont know why, so the team could be in all sorts of trouble. In real life the old team could remain battleing on as is OR being under new management could change completely.
a random re write of the stats is a good "emulation" of real events and is much easier to code
I would like however, seeing as wer're are talking about this the ability to say "no dont sack me"
Id been working with a a really boarderline team for 5 or more seasons id managed to move up two div and get into the premier league. it was coming along slowly, I estimated another 2 seasons at least b4 I could "play on par with the div leaders" but was enjoying the challange. I was just making by week by week financialy and may have even faced relegation this first season in the prem but eventually got sacked ;( No doubt I was heading maybe for a collpase and it was time to move on, but id just liked to have known if I could have risen like the Phoenix

hm... two possible changes come to my mind: a) introduce an option "no-fire" (would be a bit unrealistic) b) give more success points for getting promoted. currently you get 30 points but -6 for each week you're last in your league (and -30 for getting relegated). this is maybe a bit too harsh.

My vote for : "no fire" option included.

i dont think no fire is a good idea
not realistic
maybe a kind of manager contract instead?
