Betting

a bit weird that the developer adds to the wishlist

but i wouldn't want the idea to get lost; on the other hand i'm not sure it'll make it to the todo list.

i thought it'd be nice if the user could place bets on the outcome of games. there'd be a 'place bets and new week' button next to the new week button (he shouldn't be able to place bets without beginning a new week because otherwise he could bet on his own team and change the team afterwards). the user can place bets on the outcome of the matches of the current week.

most complicated thing would be to make a function that calculates some decent betting odds. other than that it shouldn't be too complicated to implement.

what do you think? it would spice the game up a bit, wouldn't it?

I think the betting should be a seperate application

Maybe the scheme above)(twiki) is once again a typical vector idea of grandiose proportions

But hey it opens up lots of ideas..like you could buy a team and inject funds etc.
Because of the way gyboth has written the latest version using constant files it opens up all sorts of concepts.
ON the multiplayer real world scene for example. I could be rich tycoon owning your team. I tell you to get to rank 10 this season or your out on your ear.

you're right, even if the manager can only bet just before beginning a new week, he can manipulate his match during the live game

on the other hand, he probably doesn't know the other teams very well, so he can't bet 'expertly'.
i don't think 'separate' application is a good idea. this is a football manager. no feature overkill, please

my betting idea was a minor feature, nothing complicated.
