Setting this guy each match is distracting.
what exactly does he do? (ie what difference does it make)
I assume bygfoot will just pick someone at random if I dont set one and thus it could choose a very weak player. and miss.

ok thats fine. In this case it would be nice to set anumber of P takers so I dont have to set it b4 each match. Moving players of the bench etc

bygfoot could then do this.
if no P taker set then choose random
else choose highest P taker (or choose randomly from P takers) in the starting 11.

this would also apply to free kick takers ..maybe?

hey wouldnt it be kewl to "train" a free kick taker ?

no, the penalty taker is in fact only so that maybe one of your forwards scores more goals; nothing else. if none is selected, the player with highest cskill is chosen. so you don't have to be afraid of a weak player shooting.

this would also apply to free kick takers ..maybe?

in 1.9 there'll be a penalty AND free kick taker. which might prompt you to ask for a player attribute 'penalty/free kick skill', but i won't add one, i think.

going on my original understanding i always setting the penalty taker to the best skill..but this particular guy kept missing.
obviously hes not a good shot
ill leave it as bygfoot chosen for a while seems to pick better ones than me

you could just let the best player shoot if your default p.t. is a substitute; and when you put him into the starting 11, he should be the p.t. automatically again.

yep and wouldnt you know I went to find who my best scorer was
and i was at game 1 of season 3 and no one had socred any goals.
I couldnt work out how to find out what the player did last season..

probably asking a bit much.. cant keep all the info

there isn't a way to do that (except for the player history maybe, if the option to begin new seasons with empty histories is switched off).
