Hello,
I created a country definition for Serbia&Montenegro. It "seems" to work fine, but the game keeps segfaulting after week 30.
I bet it has something to do with the cup
Anyway, here is the archive, so if anybody feels like debugging - please do

i'm just looking at your defs. let me see what i find:
gyözö
- promotion/relegation isn't symmetrical: from league 1 two teams get to leagues 2a and 2b, respectively, but one team from 2b and 3 teams from 2a move to league 1. so each season 2b will have one team more, and 2a one team less than the previous season. this is certainly not something we want to have.
- the choose_teams in the cup def are wrong. this might be the segfault problem. choose_teams should be included in the <cup_round> section, not in the <cup_rounds> (see http://bygfoot.sourceforge.net/doc/1.9/ ... .html#toc9 ).
- add_week should probably be 0 in the cup. 1000 means the cup is only started when all the leagues and cups in the choose_teams are finished. you probably want the cup to start right away.

ok, here you are, the def works now. changes i made:
but before we can add the def to the official Bygfoot package, you have to take care of the team names. official names are not allowed, and i bet 'partisan' and 'red star' etc. are official names. you should rather have names like 'R.S. Belgrad' and 'P. Belgrad' etc.
thanks for your work (you even made player names ),
gyözö
p.s. how about a supercup between the cup winner and the league 1 winner?
- changed promotion/relegation: 13-15 are relegated to 2a, the 16th is relegated to 2b.
- changed the skills in 2a and 2b to 6300 and 6000 (otherwise the relegated team from 1->2b gets always promoted again because it's too strong for 2b)
- debugged the cup, works fine now.

Hey, thanks! I'll test it today.
The supercup is not played in real life (as most often one team wins both the cup and the league)
Regarding team names, they actually are changed. E.g.:
Partisan is really called Partizan (I used the English spelling)
Red Star is really called Crvena Zvezda (I just used the translation)
Most other teams were simply named after a city they are in, unless there is more then one team in a town, where I used different spellings or only initials, etc.
Does that work?

both are still the teams' names, unfortunately. i'm no copyright-lawyer, but i'd say the changes aren't big enoughPechorin wrote:Partisan is really called Partizan (I used the English spelling) Red Star is really called Crvena Zvezda (I just used the translation)
just a town name is ok; a town name with initials, like R. Madrid is fine, too. only names that are clearly sports-football-team related, like atletico or partis/zan or real are forbidden. Most other teams were simply named after a city they are in, unless there is more then one team in a town, where I used different spellings or only initials, etc.

generally, i'd say we only use town names and initials, to be on the safe side.

Ok, I was hoping I could get away with that
Anyway, here is the updated definition. Now only names of towns used in full (e.g. P. Belgrade, R.S. Belgrade).
I hope it works now
