Re: Real Names for Database

This is what i want to say . It`s enough . That's good, because I'm this close to banning you. I don't know how old you are, but it's clear you don't get what open source and freeware is. Maybe you should rather think about OS applications as gifts. If you don't like them, don't use them. If you li...

Re: substitutions (other)

The source package is this one:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/bygfoot ... 2/download

You can recognise the source package on the download page by the ending (.tar.bz2, without any other suffix like "binary").

Re: substitutions (other)

Not sure what you're trying to tell us here. Have you just fiddled with the constants file, or did you actually change the source code? The former won't work, of course, since we're talking about a new feature here. You definitely need to dive into the code and change things across several files.

Re: substitutions (other)

The tag idea isn't so bad... You could just add a new boolean attribute (WasSubstituted or somesuch) to the player struct, set it to false for each player at the beginning of the game (e.g. in game_initialize()); check it when the list of suitable players for subbing in is compiled in game_substitut...

Re: star-studded team

The observation about German teams and Munich should be based on happenstance, if you start a new game, you should see quite different international teams be the strongest. As for star player balking, if you feel the odds are too heavily weighted against you, you can try adjusting the two parameters...

Re: teams ranking

The question is also, how do you rank when you're playing with a country definition containing leagues? International ranking, with all the teams participating in the same competition is not a problem, but most defs contain leagues on different levels.

Goalies are handled separately. If you already have a star goalie, the new star goalie with only accept with a chance of 12% (after applying the usual 25% chance of accepting anyway, so overall the chance is 33%).

Great that you like bygfoot. For the rugby simulator: The biggest problem would be that I don't understand the sport rugby rules-wise, so it would be hard to implement the rules. I disagree. The biggest problem would be that you (we) don't have the time and energy ;-) Heck, we hardly have the time ...

Weird. I definitely told XCode to package the GLib framework. What happens if you download and install the framework?

For Windows: you can also get the official names here . Unpack (Using winzip, 7-zip or similar) this downloaded file into the support_files directory (Which can be found in the directory where you installed bygfoot). EDIT: this is actually only for team names. I don't think we ever had a list of re...

Re: Mac version

Mac build is done and uploaded, use the download link given above. This app just crashes on load. Do I need to separately install the GTK package? If so, could you point out where that would be? Thanks I didn't think so. What does it say in ~/.bygfoot/bygfoot.log? You can try downloading http://ftp...

I think Greek is missing in configure.in. Try adding an "el" to the line

Code: Select all

ALL_LINGUAS="de nl fr pl pt_PT pt_BR ro bg zh es da sv it"
and configure, compile, install again.

Not sure when I'll get to creating the Mac package, I'm moving right now. It'll get done eventually, though, I'm sure :-)
