Re: Load game: unzip command

why would a user browse around and select some zip file? i don't see why anyone would want to store his savegames elsewhere than HOME/.bygfoot-1.9/saves. I don't know, and I don't see why either. Unless someone wanted to open a saved game from another user's home directory, perhaps, and couldn't be...

Welsh defs

Hmm, I've left this a bit late now but I wonder if this could be squeezed into 1.9. Quick notes: Flag included in zip. I think this is OK. I just took a stock image from the 'net and shrunk it with imagemagick. It doesn't look too bad... vector, I'm sure you'll be happy to use your superior graphica...

Re: Load game: unzip command

MarkC wrote:(See the post I intend to make shortly in the country definitions section for why the load crashed.)
Forget that bit. I didn't know there was a section in the howto about the correct order of cups. I had a cup coming before another cup that supplied a team to it.

I know, I should RTFM

Save game dialog box has an "Open" button

The button on the "Save As" dialog now appears to say "Open" instead of "Save" ;-)

(In fact, maybe it always did and I just never noticed it before. It looks weird anyway.)

Load game: unzip command

If you load a saved game from a zip archive, but have already extracted the zip file yourself, then the "unzip -qq" command prompts you to overwrite each file. If the process isn't attached to a terminal then it just seems to assume "No" for each file. If the user changed one of ...

Bug when closing main window with WM controls

Last bug for tonight ;-) If you close the main window with window manager controls instead of going File->Quit, the window shuts and then you get the popup asking whether you really want to quit. It's a bit too late to ask that question :-) Choosing "no" just leaves the game hanging, proba...

Live game pause + show coming matches

If you pause the live game then choose User -> Show coming matches, you get the "No match stored" error and then the match begins again from the beginning.

I guess you just forgot to disable this new menu item during a pause.

Live game custom structure bug #2

If you get a player sent off, you can bring him back on by entering a custom structure. He still shows as banned but his skill returns to normal. He definitely carries on playing because I managed to get a striker sent off three times in one match. Now that's what I call a hat trick.

Live game custom structure bug #1

If you pause the live game, choose "Enter custom structure", then cancel the dialog box, everything in the main window remains greyed out until you restart the live game and pause again.

Load saved game + show last match -> segfault

If you load a saved game that's part way through a season, then choose "Show last match", you get a segfault.

Re: Better country/team selection screen

I imagined making two arrays, one with the filenames and another with the country names in the same order. Then we just look up the filename corresponding to the chosen country. that would involve putting the arrays into the combo box, and in such a way that the user doesn't see the filename parts....

Re: 1.9: Cup round robin fixtures scheduled wrongly

so the only difference to the current way would be the tree, right? one thing i don't get is, what do you mean by 'moving teams'? would the levels (rows?) of the tree contain team pointer arrays? and, thinking a bit more: what would be the leafs of the tree? teams? Remember that I hadn't really tho...

International transfers bug #2

This is hard to explain without an example, so that's what I'll use. The Cup Winners' Cup contains choose_teams for sixteen leagues, as well as CUP1. Now suppose we include this cup in a country which doesn't appear in the list of sixteen. The last on the list (denmark1_short) will not be used. This...

Couldn't we use a simpler xml parser that "cheats" yeah I hate to say this again, but even tho you guys are way ahead of my programming prowess and I bow to your better judgments,I had a quick look at XML when Gyboth first mentioned it and with "Python" even I was conducting XML...
