Re: What Operating Systems should be targets for the next builds
A RPM based Linux build, although I'm not sure if both RPM and Deb builds are the same.

Re: New Builds To Test
Hello Will. My instance of a tier 2 team playing in Europe came about while that was still plying in tier 2. Apart from this team qualifying for the Europa League by winning the FA Cup they also reached the play offs in the same season as they played in Europe. Fortunately the team only got as far a...

Re: New Builds To Test
will_the_canuck you make a good point about inactive leagues. I did add the academy to the country file but since you mentioned changing the property of the EFL Trophy from domestic to international I will do this and remove the academy entry from the country file and retest. The testing of the Engl...

Re: New Builds To Test
will_the_canuck, You are correct with the EFL Trophy, academy teams from the Premier League and Championship are included. I have been updating the English definition and have taken this into account by adding 16 academy teams to the cup but not to any league. The EFL Trophy doesn't offer progressio...

Re: New Builds To Test
The use of reserve teams varies throughout Europe. In some countries reserves teams are made up of youth players with maybe squad players that could be coming back from injury or are in need of match time. In the UK reserve teams exists because clubs have a large squad of players and having reserve/...

Re: New Builds To Test
When I rewrote the European definitions, i took out all the reserve teams and filled the spaces with teams from lower league teams. Te problem with Faroe Islands was that there wasn't enough teams to be able to keep the three tier league structure and so I had to reduce it to two tiers.

Re: Question about LEAGUE1 and CUP1
As I understand it, using <LEAGUE1> tag means the current champions of the league you are playing is used in international competitions, like the UEFA Champions League. The same applies to <CUP1> or <CUP2> tags where <CUP1> usually refers to the national cup and <CUP2> is the national League Cup, al...

Re: Updating definitions in a source tree
The new UEFA definitions are working except that there is an issue with how the files are named. I am using the new UEFA definitions while I test other national definitions and I had to alter the UEFA definitions to suit the national definition I was testing. There is a separate thread regarding thi...

Re: Updating definitions in a source tree
It might be better to start with the popular leagues first since these are the ones that users are likely to play. I can do some, perhaps Spain, Italy, Germany or a UK league. Any new definitions for the current game, as it is, would have to be done to fit it in to the original UEFA definitions. wil...

Re: Best way to start?
Hello smitsg. Glad you are enjoying Bygfoot. I can't add to anything will_the_canuck posted in regards to playing the game. If you want updated definitions, The Netherlands is available, then visit the Definition section, go to the Netherlands 2019/20 thread and you can download updated Netherlands ...

Re: Using inactive leagues
will_the_canuck. I started looking at updating the Wales definition. This national league went through a reorganisation during the summer of 2020 to create a 1-2-4-8 pyramid system. The pyramid stretches below tier 4 with 12 leagues but only a small number of tier 5 teams play in the Welsh Cup each ...

Re: Using inactive leagues
Thanks for your input tstellar. I added the <start_idx> and <end_idx> but had to remove the <generate> tag to get this to work.

Using inactive leagues
This is more a FYI rather than me reporting a bug. When creating a domestic cup, I haven't tried with international cups, if you use a league that is defined as <inactive> then randomly selecting teams from that league doesn't work the league seems to just be ignored. An example of this is <choose_t...

Re: Domestic cup with 17 entrants
You are correct Will. I was, still am, working on the Scotland definition. This was put on the back burner for awhile due to the current virus situation and how it effected Scottish football at the end of last season and also this season. One of these was the introduction of a new tier 6 league whic...

Re: Domestic cup with 17 entrants
I use PCLinuxOS. When I first found Bygfoot I just put in a repo request to the distro admin and they packaged it and did whatever they needed to do so it would install and run
